He was born in Jinhae but grew up in Seoul. After majoring Korean literature, he became a TV reporter. He discovered his interest in art when he was assigned to the culture desk in 2010. Since then, he has been covering the field of art. In 2023, he introduced Lee Jungseop’s undiscovered painting for the first time.

He wrote and published Rediscovering Journalism (Cheokbose Publishing, 2015), and he translated Seymour Hersh’s My Lai 4 and published it under the title of Investigative Journalism That Changed the World (Sejong Institution, 2009). He believes that the food for people’s mind is art and culture, and believes that his joy and work is to attending art exhibitions and read art books.
